Wouldn’t it be great if others spoke of you by saying “I’m a huge advocate of his”! When we say that we are someone’s advocate, what we’re really saying is that we admire, respect, and – normally – follow the path that an individual prescribes.
If you have a situation where multiple individuals are “your advocates” that means that you have acted in some way, shape, or form that had an influence – normally positive! — on their lives. That’s one heck of an endorsement if you can get there.
There’s lots of possible ways to get there. However, perhaps the easiest comes from Zig Ziglar:
- You can achieve all you want in life by helping others achieve what they want
It’s a simple recipe to describe, but a difficult one to follow.
With that in mind:
- Who’s your biggest advocate?
As always, thanks for the time.

There are some things that just make you smile. Often these things are simple — watching your kids do something, completing a simple task, not eating an extra helping at the dinner table, helping someone in need. We enjoy these so much. And yet we often fail to spend the time doing these little things that bring us that enjoyment. What a shame.
Each day we make a number of choice. Generally they’re trade offs between time and money. While we hate to admit it, that’s the reality. The question we need to consider is which is really more valuable — time or money? Only you can answer that question.
- What will you enjoy today?
As always, thanks for the time.

There are always choices available. Each day begins with a clean slate. We choose what we will do AND what we will not do. This instead of that. And when you think too much about it, it can become almost paralyzing.
Ultimately there is no right answer. There are just the choices that we make. Instead literally means “in place of”. We can choose to work or play. Love or hate. Cry or smile. Which place we “reside” for the day is our choice. The irony is that sometimes the places we “visit” based on our choices turn out to be much different than those that we envisioned.
So quit worrying about whether you are making the right choice. Perhaps you’ll end up there rather than here. But that’s OK as sometimes the place we did NOT envision turns out to be much more interesting..
- Instead of doing the same thing, why not try something new?
As always, thanks for the time.

There’s too much “have to do”, too much “now, now, now”, too much “this is important” in our lives. Think about it for a minute. Go back one week. What did you “HAVE” to do that day? Go back one month. What was the “CRISIS” at that point in time? Go back one year. What were you so “WORRIED” about then?
My guess is that you might remember last weeks big thing, perhaps you’ll be able to recollect one month ago, but I seriously doubt you’ll be able to remember the critical issue from a year ago. The only exceptions to this are things that ARE transformational: births, marriages, deaths, job changes, serious health issues.
That brings us to relax. When you spend all of your time focusing on the crisis — real or perceived — that are taking place in your life, you don’t give your mind or body time to recuperate. That’s OK short term. However, long term the effects are significant. That’s why it’s so important to schedule “down” or “away” time. Time to relax and read. Time to sleep. Time to play with the kids. Time to play a round of golf. Time to fish. Time to talk with friends. My guess is that the time you spend on these activities WILL be remembered. In fact the time we spend relaxing will likely be the most memorable and important of our lives.
- Isn’t it time for you to relax?
As always, thanks for the time.
