The Power of Words
Starting Each Day With A Little Thinking...Anchor
Two quite different things come to mind when I think of “anchor”. The first is the concept of something that is holding you back while the second is something that is holding you in place. What a difference “back” versus “in place”.
I’d like to think that for my friends and family I fulfill the “in place” role more than the “back” role. While there’s no way to be absolutely certain, I’d argue that the best way to tell the difference is by looking at where your focus is. If you’re looking externally/at helping your friends and family, my guess is that you’re acting in the “in place” role. Conversely, if you’re looking internally my guess is that you’re acting in the “back” role.
With that in mind:
Are you an “in place” or a “hold back” anchor?
As always, thanks for the time.
Blog Challenge Day 29
We’ve reached the penultimate day of the challenge! Today Natalie asks us to reflect on:
What does your blueprint for living the dream look like to you?
Back on day five, Natalie asked us to reflect on our ideal day. Many of the elements that came to mind when envisioning the ideal day, are the same that are part of the blueprint for living the dream:
- I’ll have balance between faith, friends & family, fitness, and finances.
- I’ll be involved in activities that help others learn new things, grow as individuals, and live life more fully.
- I’ll come to enjoy things for what they are and stop searching for what they could be.
While there’s a lot more that could be included on the list, think that these three items are a pretty good foundation!

Blog Challenge Day 28
Four weeks in and the challenge today is:
What travel tools and services are most important to you when taking your business abroad?
Today’s question is a bit intriguing. While I’ve traveled extensively, I’ve never really thought about the tools that are critical for the journeys. After a bit of thought, came up with the following:
- Some sort of organizer / planner to keep the itineraries organized. For me, having copies of my travel arrangements was always at the top of the list.
- A device to access the internet. I’d likely go with a laptop here for content creation and an iPad for content consumption.
- A power adapter for the various outlet styles.
Beyond these three, there’s not much that I can come up with that’s critical.

Blog Challenge Day 27
Today’s focus is on travel:
What’s your best travel hacking story to date (where you scored a free upgrade, used miles or just got a bonus perk) OR Name 2 ways in which you’re going to become a savvy travel hacker in the next 6 months
There’s two things that I should focus on in the next six months:
- Getting credit for / using my accumulated points and miles
- Taking advantage of the offers on various credit cards to get additional points/miles
Pretty straight forward for today!
